I thought of this one a few days ago, and decided it would make for interesting conversation on these boards.

                       Data Vs. The Terminator

(The T-101 Terminator, the first one played by Arnold)

No phasers, no machine guns, no weapons whatsoever.  Hand-to-hand combat, who would win?

They both posess great strength, many times that of a simple human.  The way I see it, I believe the Terminator would out-muscle Data...BUT, Data would obviously have an intelligence advantage.  The Terminator only has a limited, somewhat simple A.I. system, while Data would most likely be one of the most intelligent androids ever built.  What do you think?

plus the fact that the terminator has a reserve power system. he can practically be destroyed but he still comes back for one last go.

Data is a "computer", while Terminator is a killing machine.

I think it would be 50/50, since Data could easily hack into it to make it self-destruct.

What makes you think Terminator is stronger than Data? Sure the terminator was designed for that kind of thing but Data's probably made of alloys that are only on other planets and he is really really strong anyway, they are probably equal.

Both Termi and Data in line in front of 20 borgs. The one that crush them the fastest.

Considering that Data has alot more abilities then we saw on TNG because he was 'endeavouring to become more human', I think Data would own in hand to hand.

And if that doesnt work, he can always download that virus he made for the Bord into Arnie's head.

#1, that virus that Data made to destroy the Borg was meant ONLY for the borg, because the borg anylise new things they encounter, and they keep trying until they understand it.  The terminator just kills, lol, he doesn't try to learn or understand things.

#2, How is Data going to get that virus uploaded to the Terminator in the first place?  Gonna tell him to stand still for a second? lol

termi wood win, hes a purpose built killing machine, whereas data is an android whos only really meant for menial labour, and just happens to be super strong.
if he happened to be reprogrammed with a killing program type thing,then he mite stand a chance, n hurt termi a bit, but not enuf to stop the termi from annialating(sp?) data
