when i minamise my game or somebody signs in on msn my brightness goes very low. i have to drop down the options line thing and go into misc and drag the brightness back up with the mouse.

seeing as this happens often i was wondering if i could bind a command to set the brightness to a certain level each time it happens...

could anybody tell me the cmd for brightness?

Yes i have same video card and problem if you can say so.
Well command is r_gamma, but it will change brightness only when you change current value of r_gamma for example if you r_gamma is 1.2 you have to change it first to r_gamme 1.3 then back to r_gamma 1.2 to change brightness. Or you can bind 2 keys for this.

Buy i found more cool way to change brightness, gamm and contrast.
Just go in Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> Color there select Fullscreen Mode 3D then click Hotkeys button and bind buttons to increase and decrease Brightness Gamma and Contrast. Also bund key to load current profile to reset settings to defaults if you realy mess with brightness in game. Don't forget to uncheck the checkbox Disable Hotkeys.

So thats it, this will work only in full screen mode for all Direct3D and OpenGL games isnt this cool?

Now when you set brightness in game and get your msn window that will reset it, settings will auto  restore back when you switch to SoF2 window.

Just set you gamma in game to default (1) because if you leave it on 1.2 for example and set settings in driver after you get msn message r_gamma settings will go back to 1 and you will gave to ajust brightness again.

Also you must have setting "Activate ATI icon in taskbar" on for this to work.

You minimize and get gamma fubar because of ATI's drivers.  And your gonna wack out your game brightness everytime you minimize (and go dark) and then restart or quit and then come back.  It's because of the monitor re-sync with Windows everytime you quit.  Don't ya love the bleach screen when you crash?  And I don't think they (ATI) really care that the new Cat's screw up the minimizing of an aging online shooter.

i don't really get a problem wit ATI's drivers when minimizing, i think the issue is wit my teamspeak and then minimizing.. sometimes i get weird colored textures, like only the doors or something become multi colored.

I guess BullsEyeBob² is just another nVidiot.
