I saw a post and it got me thinking...hehe.

A few days (like a week or so I guess at least) ago when the nVidia $150,000 tournament was brought up at quakecon, with Doom 3 being there to be played, I was talking with a friend of mine.

There would be other games, too...such as q3a, etc. Being a major former q3a ctf fan, I was excited...q3a was always my favorite over UT.

Anyway, I was wondering about Fatal1ty, hehe, and of course my friend had already emailed him and he said he would be on hand to try out doom3 probably, he's in europe (or was a few days ago).

Since he won't have any 15-hour days to practice Doom, if he competes it should be very interesting (of course he's going to win, duh).

Oh for those who don't know, fatal1ty aka Jonathan Wendel is arguably the best all-around gamer in the world. His most prominent era was probably in Quake 3 where he placed high (if not first) on every tournament some surrounding family crisis.

He has won and placed top 3 at many a cpl and other high profile tournaments in deathmatch and moved on to Unreal Tournament 2003 in time for the Pentium 4 CPL Winter Championship (he went on to beat c.pense to become world champion three times in a row).

If one thing stands out is that he only had a few weeks to practice for this tournament and played over 15 hours each day to gain the experience and ability to compete on such short notice.

He also ventured into Counter-Strike, where any team he joined quickly overpowered some others. His own team, iFate, quickly grew however, only real time can provide the experience needed in Counterstrike and he deemed it not worth the effort and has moved on. I have to agree, the skill level is not on par with some other games, yet makes up in other ways. He also plays games such as Warcraft 3. Truly a mult-faceted professional.

He also has his own clothing line.

Man this guy your talking about sounds like a beast...i think it would be really cool to meet someone like that, or at least play a little and learn from them

he's actually really nice, compared with a lot of top players and has had like a lot of shows and thigns on him, i think mtv featured him thru out the ut2003 stuff...hes done a lot to get esports popular (altho some would say it was to get 'him' popular, but both come with the territory imo)

i remember the last thing he played, there was a competition where if you signed up you could play him i think it was ut2003, not long ago...to a fraglimit of 10 and u get prizes for stuff...like if u win i dont remmebr what it was, but it was big..lol i think it was the latest gfx card by nvidia actually, dont remember~

anyways, out of 200 people only one person even fragged him and he only got him once...lol no1 beat him, :o
