How can I make SoF work in XP ? I can't make it play for more than a few minutes before it crashes. I've tried the compatibility deal, but that doesn't work. All my drivers are up to date

I think you could try to reinstall the game, and if that doesn't work, try and get a no-cd patch at cracksites like www.gamecopyworld, or www.megagames.com. Just download a 'no cd/ FIXED .EXE' file of your version and then paste it in the main folder. I do have a question for you though. What kind of videocard do you have? I have  a Hercules ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, and although all my drivers are up to date, some games occasionally crash  . And i would like a little bit of info about the crash... Does your screen freeze, do you return to windows, does your computer suddenly restart?
I'd like to help you with this, only: i have to know what computer you have.

I have an SiS videocard. And when I crash, the computer freezes, and the sound is 'stuck'. I have to manually reboot the computer, as nothing will work.

Most probably the problem is your video card. I know what you, mean and i have (had) it alot. You should adjust the settings of your card: set them to speed, not to graphics. This will most probably make the graphics less beautifull, but your computer is less likely to crash. Also (if that doesn't work) try to put the screen resolution down a bit (in-game). Try to put off any program that runs behind the scenes. Thay are usually off, but still active. for example: MSN messenger. If you go offline and then us ethe cross in the upper-right corner, the program is closed, but still active behind the scenes. Try to put as many of those off. Oh yes, another way of dealing this is probably to upgrade the game to the latsest version,or to downgrade it to the first version. Sounds weird, doesn't it?
Hope ya fix it.
