I personaly think they should follow the Quake 2 soundtrack style because it's the best I've heard for a game but that's just me.

Actually weren't Q2 and Q3's music done by Sonic Mayhem? Anyways I think they should do something similar to Q2's music, it fit the theme well.

Yes it was but I'm not sure Trent Reznor will be doing any more music for games. He started doing the music for Doom 3 but ended up stopping to do his new album leaving his drummer to finish up. Hopefully he'll do Quake 4 though that would be nice.

Quake 2 music was made my Sonic Mayhem and Q3 music was made by Sonic Mayhem and Frontline Assembly.
Exellent stuff..

Some heavy industrial/Electro would be cool for Quake 4 i think
