That's right, folks! Doom 3 is complete and will begin manufacturing soon. The product will be able to begin shipping apparently at midnight August 3rd to retailers. This comes straight from Todd Hollenshead's .plan file and apparently, they're all living it up with some champagne to celebrate the finished product and the fact that it has gone Gold!

The Mac OSX version will be "just as polished as the PC version" and released when it's done. The Linux version will not be on store shelves, however the binaries will be released shortly after the game hits shelves. You can order online from iD Software, however he indicated that some retailers may have the product in stock before they actually do. Something to think about. The demo will be released after they finish some business with post-production and likely will not be out until around or after the full product hits shelves. Be on the lookout for an official FAQ in the coming days.

I pre-ordered awhile back, gonna be a wonderful game, and a kickass engine... Still pissed abbout COOP on just X-Box though...

CO-OP is a wonderful addition to any fps game. Even though I can't play mp or co-op with this crappy satellite connection.
But I would if I could. Serious Sam Rocks.
