Hi, I'm been playin heretic for around 6+ years and have been workin on my own mods for the game, and im wonderin If the Sorce code for the Heretic 2 Engin has been released to public. I'd like to perhaps work with it and see if I could improve it and/or tweak it a little for my mod im workin on.

The Heretic 2 Community may not be that big but it is at least hundred players strong. alot of them still play heretic 2, and some made mods of there own. with the release of the heretic 2 engin sorce, It would grow when there are new heretic 2 engin mods realeased for public enjoyment.

So im wondering if you would release the sorce for the heretic 2 engin. as the heretic 2 game sorce is limited with the engin as are the maps that that have been made, there's well over 500 custom maps and thousands of textures and hundreds of player skins and many models made by the Heretic 2 community.

I'd Like to improve the engin so the heretic 2 community could make larger and more complex maps 2-6 times larger and more detailed 32-bit skins and textures and mp3 format sounds.

also lets get a heretic 3 in the works! =]

I emailed thiem about this about a yr and a half ago. They didnt think it was worthwhile back then to release it. But maybe enough time has passed now.After all even the Q3 engine is on its last year of life

you might email Rickmus or Monroe or Raven in general and they will email you back. I personally would like to see Heretic2 get an updated graphics engine with TGA support and other more modern features of engines out there.

worst they can say is no. If they do release it I would reinstall it so I could play heretic fortress with better graphics
