supported video cards Supported Chipsets for Hardware Acceleration All Nvidia GeForce Series All ATI Radeon Series All PowerVR Kyro Series Nvidia TNT 2 series ATI Rage 128 Matrox G550 Important Note: * Some 3D accelerator cards with the chipsets listed here may not be compatible with the 3D acceleration features utilized by Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix. Please refer to your hardware manufacturer for 100% full OpenGL compliant drivers. so ya may need a better vid card  ..or check with the system manufacturer or www.intel.com and see if there is an updated driver for your onboard video card that may help .. i will tell ya tho, most onboard vid cards do suck .. and disableing them and recouping that used system ram and adding a dedicated *supported * AGP card will help alot if your system does not have an agp slot try a geforce fx 5200 pci model card http://www.newegg.com/app....hdepa=0 |

ah, punk buster, POS. Keeps the paranoids happy (as happy as they could be) and keeps the cable feeling like 56k.
What we need is ap buster. To get rid of crap like PB.
I've heard that BF1942 is going punk buster, man that game is allready just this side of playable. I expect PB will redefine lag for that game aswell.
Personaly I would rather let the underdeveloped people use their hall wacks and lamebots (which I have NEVER even suspected anyone of using in sof2 ever, though I know they do), then have my experience stunted and dulled due to inforced PB lag.
I play alot of games now and then, though less and less these days cause every time I fire up quake, RTCW or SOF2, PB has to do it's update. What is this 1986? Shouldn't have to wait so long for crap to load to play a freaking game.
But hey, at least PB lets me play. Sorry about your luck guys. I recommend an email to raven explaining how it becomes pointless to buy their product when it comes with a free lifetime ban! (assuming you DID buy it) I know when I'm in store choosing a new game it's going to be the one with out PB.
sorry about the post. I think I need a whine buster! |

Unfortunately you don't always get the option... usually developers like to slip PB in months after the game comes out. Ark |
