I've seen the fixes for the PCs (+set net_port 201xx)

Can someone tell me how to get 2 Macs to join the same server behind one router???

Please help, I've been struggling with this for hours and I'm missing out on Clan practice!

Thank you for any help you can provide!

Yeah, I know, I just can't imagine that NO ONE else has ever tried to get two macs on one server from behind the same router.

They are unique CD keys, no problem there.

Thanks for replying!!!!   :)

I think what we need to figure out is how to make the Multiplayer App. on the Mac send modified net_port information when it launches... essentially this is what's occuring with the same mod on the PC side.

Any Mac networking gurus out there who can shed some light on this?

Thanks!!!

cant u do it in the same way as on the pc, by adding +set net_port 20100 to the target on one of the machines shortcuts and +set net_port 20101 to the targe on the other machines shortcut. then u foward port 20100 to the machine that has it in its shortcut target and port 20101 to the machine that has it in its shortcut target.

No, unfortunately that trick only seems to work for the PC side of things and not for the Mac.

Built into Mac OS X is the capability to view the contents (to a certain point) of the actual application.  I believe there must be some way to modify some part of this to make the application launch with the new port information tied to it.  I dunno, I'm not much of a hacker.

How can I go about getting the software manufacturer or the company that made the Mac version to read this thread or answer my question?

Thanks for the interest and any help!!!

doing that will get u kicked from pb servers for a gamehack as you would have been modifiying the exe and thats not allowed. it needs to be done from a startup line. the best way is to probably find a mac forum and ask them how to put options in the startup line

I solved it!

With a little help from here and other forums and a short phone conversation with the Mac version manufacturer I've figured out what file to modify and where it was located.

To change the net_port information sent along with the Multiplayer application for Mac OS X go to:  Soldier of Fortune II (folder)/base/mp and duplicate your autoexec.cfg file and move it somewhere safe (in case you ruin it you'll have a copy of the original) open up the autoexec.cfg with TextEdit.  Add the following line to end of the list of commands in the file:

seta net_port 201xx

The "xx" is a number above "01" (which is the default).  Then save the file.  My whole file now looks like this:

seta cg_crosshairGrow "0"
seta cg_bobroll "0.000"
seta cg_bobpitch "0.000"
seta cg_bobup "0.000"
seta cg_runroll "0.000"
seta cg_runpitch "0.000"
seta net_port 20105

The problem occurs when more than one Mac tries to access the same server behind certain routers.  Since they end up using the same IP and then the same default net_port the Mac that tries to join second can't connect.

Altering this to say 20103 or 20105 will give the Macs unique settings and should have no problem accessing the same server.

So, if you are experiencing troubles like we were this may solve your troubles.  We were using a Netgear router while others we know using other routers weren't having and problems.  I believe this is why few people were complaining or seeking a solution.

Good Luck!!!
