Lead Programmer Rick Johnson has put out word that they are looking to hire a "User Interferce designer" over at Raven Software to work on Quake 4.
This person will be responsible for both creating in-world UI’s ( control panels, consoles, information panels, etc) as well as player interface menus for a Doom3 based product. UI's will be written in a custom language that is part of the Doom3 engine. Raven has constructed an integrated visual tool which assists the user in creating most UI functionality.
ShackNews has Rick Johnson's .plan which contains all the details about the position and its requirements.

I am glad to hear that the next title in the Quake series is actually coming to life. Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Raven been working on this supposedly for a very long time? At least, the announcement was made anyway. It should be worth it, afterall they did create SOF and I kinda liked JKII as well, :)

Oh and wasn't there a Quake 4 poster beind sold with some games (I forget which, but I want to say it was a Raven game) a few years ago..? I also think I've seen one in a store before...

:D I love Quake!

Q4 has been in development a long time, but I think that's because of DOOM III. They have priorities.

Very good point, however, you never (or I didn't, but I was trapped in the Half-Life world for a long time) really hear much about future Quake titles, as say you would about Doom 3. Q3A was still kind of young when they made the Doom site at the...mgon, lol :) I'm glad I didn't work the Doom site, look where it's at now?

On the other hand, perhaps it's my fault! (I won't lose any sleep over that any time soon, though lol)
