I was just wondering if anyone besides me ever has there PC hang when trying to test a map? It pops up the loading screen and says the map name, but then just sits there and I have to reboot. I put a DM Intermission and a DM spawn point in the maps...is there anything obvious that will cause this?? Thanks for any help you may have.

How long do you sit before re-booting? I notice especially after using radiant, then testing you map, that your pc hangs a lot longer than normal before loading and sometimes if done a few times will do that and you have to reboot. I have had same problem. I don't usually worry about it, but try leaving it a little longer or just get used to re-booting. In my experience windoze get's easily fatigued and messed up, so if you need to re-boot then it's probably for the better. I usually reboot before loading radiant for the first time so as to not screw any maps up.

Thanks EMPEROR for the super fast responce! Well, I let it sit here for about 5 mins last night before I decided to go ahead and reboot. Seems like I doesn't do it on simple maps I do just for trying to learn how to do something new, but when I make a bigger map and want to see how it's looking, that's when It happens. I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing in the map that's causing this, of it's a windows fluke. Thanks again!

check that you have no compile errors on your map

also

1) make sure you have no conflicting gsc statments

2) REMOVE ALL MODS FROM YOUR MAIN DIRECTORY

3) ensure that you turn pure OFF

4) test your map with developer set to 1

if your using any scripts with a
while (1)
{

// need this line
wait (0.1);
}

or in a loop statement

make sure you have the "wait (0.1)"
or it will hang for sure.
