I had someone email me recently asking if I can port BARD over to Linux. This would more or less be the same for all other mods.

While certain files are in there to allow the mod to be run on a Linux command line, I am not sure how you make a SOF2 mod fully compatible with Linux.

Would you need .QVM files or .DLL files, I assume .QVM since .DLL's are Windows? What else do you need to do?

I said I woudl investigate this for him... I might have to install Linux. :(

Why wouldnt BARD work on Linux? Most prof GISP run Linux servers, and so do the mods... Goldrush on Jolt14 = Linux, runs great :)

The SOF2 SDK utilizes a modified form of the lcc compiler and outputs bytecodes into the .qvm file that are then compiled into the host machine's architecture at run time.  Unless some sort of Win32 emulator is being run on a Linux box a .dll built for the Windows platform will not run (unless of course Linux adheres *exactly* to the Portable Executable file format specification).  Consequently, I would say the .qvm files are all that you would need.

Yeah as far as I know BARD should work in Linux, and so should any mod using .QVM's. So I'm not sure what exactly this guy was meaning.
