OK.  First, great game.  I enjoy it immensely.

However... I'm trying to run a multiplayer game on the internet with just myself and a friend.  I create the game, make certain to set the minimum players to at least 1, make sure to put the minimum ping at 0 and the max at something obscenely high (500 or so), set a password, and go to town.  I rename the server and launch the game.

My buddy can't see the server.  Even if he adds my IP address, he can't find the game.  He's looking in "source: Internet," and neither of us is running a firewall while trying to connect.  We managed to get it to work once, but I have no idea how, and as soon as we quit out and restarted, we couldn't get it to work again.  What the heck is going on?  This is really frustrating!

What could be hiding my server from him?  We tried reversing roles, and I couldn't see his darned server either!  What the heck is going on?

Thanks in advance for the help...

Christian

First, if your behind a router or firewall, that would cause issues. but since you said it worked once, i dont think thats it otherwise you would have to have messed with it. another thing, unless your running a dedicated server (which i doubt you are), the server will not appear under the 'internet' list, you have to connect to the ip manually. passwourd and ping settings shouldnt matter because you'll still be able to connect, you'll just get disconnected soon after with an error like invalid password or ping too high. make sure you're both using the same version of the game. if one of you has installed the new patch, and the other hasnt, that would cause the problem.

those are my only thoughts on the moment, i cant think of anything else at this hour of the morning. hope it helps
