Just got my new MaximumPC mag. They have a very interesting showdown between the 3 fastest processor around today. The following were tested: -AMD Athlon 64 FX-51 -Intel P4EE (extreme edition) -Apple Power PC 970 (G5) The other components where on par to assure objectivity. The winner was the P4EE BUT the AMD was just a hair behind it. And the Athlon is 64 ready. As for the G5, it takes a distant 3rd place (which would likely be 4th place if they had tested a generic P-4). All and all, 3 amazing proc. And I still remain an AMD fan-boy...

AMD rule unless u are a Rich person and dont mind paying $80 extra for the same soeed oricessor from a different manufacturer.

Ya AMD kicks Intel espiaccly in the price department.... AMD will rein supreme! Keep in mind the Athlon64 has not yet reached its full potential, they'll be able to squeeze alot more performance out of it, the P4 on the other hand, im a bit skeptical about

Intel rulez!!! read in a magazine about a computer that had a P4EE 3.2Ghz clocked @ 3.8Ghz! Man that computer is fast! (also has 533mhz ddr II ram, support for 16GB of ram) http://www.go-l.com me want one!

I'm building myself a PC in the next couple of months, and an AMD 64 will be going in it. AMD have never let me down. I even got good performance out the K62 I had years ago.
