Resolving masterjk2.ravensoft.com
Couldn't resolve address: masterjk2.ravensoft.com

Are the entire ip range on my machines blocked for one reason or another? Strangely, it works fine on a machine on a totally different range, but I can't resolve it with the following ips:

66.98.188.69
66.98.188.74
66.98.204.36

I managed to nslookup the master server and ping it just fine. The only thing I can think of it it's blocking heartbeats to my IP's or there is a major routing issue with the master server to mid-west and east coast.  :(

Try this:

Change your name server from your ISP's to the following:

204.118.135.133  (NS1.ACTIVISION.COM)
63.146.124.15     (NS2.ACTIVISION.COM)

That way your directly connecting to their name server to resolve that name.

If that works then something is likely wrong with your ISP's name server.

Or you can edit your hosts file and put the resolve in manually. (of crouse if and when they change IPs, then it will stop working)

This will then allow the name to always be reported.

Lastly try to put the ip address into the cvar as an additional master list server like so:

seta sv_master3 "63.146.124.53"

These were suggested in another thread:

seta sv_master1 "masterjk3.ravensoft.com"
seta sv_master2 "masterjk3.ravensoft.com"
seta sv_master3 "63.146.124.53"
seta sv_master4 "204.97.248.90"
seta sv_master5 "clanservers.net"
seta sv_master6 "master0.gamespy.com"

Apparently there is a bad version of JK2ded floating around that won't report to master servers and in some cases causes crashing of the server (segmentation faults). Raven just sent me a new one that works fine. Beware of the jk2ded you can get from www.3dgamers.com
