I'm Having a weird problem I dont know whats causing this?
I am running a server off the same computer I am playing on.
I have my video settings set up for fastest fps.. Generally I see around 90-125 FPS while playing on my server. Here lately my fps  has been maintaining itself in the 30-65 FPS range.
Seems every 1 min or so... my FPS meter shows a FPS dip into the 10-20 range that last for approximately 5 seconds? This never use to happen, but does anyone have any ideas why it is?
Computer is always on and hasnt shut off in 3-4 months, I dont know if this is the problem (heat buildup) or not.. But the system is Athlon 2200, 640 ram, g-force 64, audigy 2 sound.
Nothing is Overclocked all bias settings are stock?
Please let me know if you have any ideas on fixing this?
*I play on a second Install of game,(seperate from server)
seems if I reinstall game.. It helps, but eventually goes back to pigging out.

Rebooting once a week and defragging the harddrive is usually a good idea as well...

If you're running windows 2000 or XP, the bunled defrag utility is fine. Otherwise, I'd recommend Speeddisk, diskkeeper or some other 3rd party app.
