This is weird.. and a long story. I tried posting this a minute ago, but cant find the thread.

Anyways, i picked up JA from walmart, back in september. Its for christmas. But at the time, i had heard about the CD problems, and driver problems, so i asked my mom to let me install it and check it out first, so we could return if we have to.... so i did, everything ran good, i used the ASE to find some siege games, it all ran good. I played about half of the first level, spawned a rancor :D and boba fett. The game was so cool!!!!! Anyways, i gave the CDs back to my mom (its a christmas present afterall) so i cant play.

But i did find a way to get into the MP menu, just use the all seeing eye, try to connect, and it takes you to the menu, where it tells you to insert CD 1... so i just looked around, and i noticed under setup mods theres a mod, and its called "w" without the " "

strange right? It doesnt seem to have any affect on anything, at least non that i know of, since i cant seem to get into the game to play anways.... i dont have anything downloaded except GTK but GTK doesnt run too well on my old PC, so i installed JK2 radiant to JA, and that works fine...

Everyone i know doesnt have this "mod" if its even a mod, i think its just a small glitch. (i dont have the patch yet, im ganna wait till i actually can play the game to get that)

Does anyone know about this? Heard of it? Have it? Seen it before? Know what it does?

Thanks. I doubt it will have an effect on the game, im just interested to know what it is!

thanks again

Find the W directory, and post what you find.  It'll be hard to find 'just' a directory, but I think it's key to your answer.

sorry for bringing this up.. but i just figured out what it was... you wont believe it either!

I installed the patch and the mod name changed to "website" the same thing had been in my JK2 mod thing, but i never paid attention to it. I thought it was just something i made when i was testing stuff out. Anyways, then i checked the JK2 gamedata folder, and there was no "website" folder, but i had made one somewhere else.

JK2 and JA are installed to the default paths (c:\program files\lucas arts.......)

The website folder's path was like this: C:\website

I used the folder to put stuff in so i could upload it faster, so i didnt have to look through the folders, i had some .pk3 files in there... anyways, i renamed it to "webfiles" loaded them up, and the mod name was "webfiles"!

So.. how could they be reading mods from a folder thats not even close to the gamedata directorys? Obviously, this wont affect gameplay, but its just interesting to know that I could put a mod in just C:\mod_name_folder\file.pk3 and it will show up! Weird huh?

I have this on my computer, also.  It's some undocumented feature of the Mods Setup screen.  Only the person who tried to set this up (some misc Raven dev) could tell you what they were trying to do and how to activate it.
