As one of the Halo 2 developers said "why would we release something as big as this in secret?" The patch is a major thing and you'd expect that if it was released it would be made fully noticeable on the major sites for JA. I'd presume it appearing at http://support.lucasarts.com/patches/patches.htm would be the best bet that it was the official one would it not? |

It seems 3dgamers is also spreading this new patch. A filehoster who is known for his legitfiles on this. http://www.3dgamers.com/games/jediacademy/#filelistI think it's a matter of waiting before the new server protocol is released. But as all of you I expected Raven of Lucasarts respond to this patch. |

| Quote (JetstreamServers @ Nov. 11 2003, 2:35 am) | It's also on LucasFiles now but here's the bummer that I've discovered this evening after updating my client with this patch: It's for clients only or servers running the retail client and it doesn't patch the 1.00 dedicated servers. (I have a game farm with lots of Win servers.) So this means...
Your nice and new 1.01 patch uses a later protocol and you can't use it to connect to all those dedicated servers running an earlier protocol and us games hosting companies can't upgrade to 1.01 servers yet.
Hopefully they'll release a new jampded.exe to go with the 1.01 patch very soon. Until then don't install it is my suggestion! |
Yeah, I think a lot of people are wanting this. Heh, I need one too!

I think a lot of people are needing this patch for Win32. I hope they release it very soon, if not I'll have to revert back to 1.0. Argh.

Generally yes but when it comes to the JA series, common sense doesn't always apply unfortunately. When the original retail release came out it took a while for Raven to post about where the dedicated files were. If memory serves right I already got that info from a third party a couple of days before hearing from Raven, despite pestering them for it. If you take that plus the fact that Raven's not posted in the forums about the master list bug, it's not exactly responsible behaviour so many wouldn't be suprised not to hear about it I think, hence the valid questions here.
The patch comes with some official release note so I think it's a 50/50 possibility unless you can categorically state on good authority of course that this is not an official release? It would look awfully official to many btw. being prompted through the ASE update warning (Raven has been pushing ASE as the work-around for the master list bug after all) plus it's now on LucasFiles too. |
