Hi,

Are there any primers on how to set up a dedicated server, anything which could clue me in on how to get my server, sitting behind a NAT gateway, to appear on the server list in game?

you have to set your server to work on a certain port. so, in your config put something like
Code Sample
net_port 29072

then, set your router to foreward incoming connections of protocol udp on port 29072 to the computer that you just set up as the server.
if you want to do multiple servers, just do the same thing, except change that port to a differant number for each server

OK, thanks. I can do that.

But is there a list of the different commands etc out there anyplace? And which IP address does the heartbeat report to ravensoft's server? The "internal" one (10.0.0.101, for example), or the "external" one?

list of commands out there? like server commands? probably is, somewhere. i know there is a command like 'cmdlist' or something similar which lists commands, but it doesnt describe them.
and it doesnt report any ip to the server, it just sends the heartbeat, and due to the way NAT works, the ravensoft server figures out your ip itself, so dont worry about it. (but it does use the external ip)

(but it does use the external ip)

Which is quite normal, since the Raven Server has no acces to your local area network in terms of local ip's.

To the world out there you have the external ip, only computers behind your router can see the internal ip's.
