Hi. Yes I registered to post. Yes this is my first post. And no, I don't own JA- yet. I've played JK2 for a long time and I'm a potential customer who's really been wanting to check out JA. I've been thinking about buying JA for a week. Then I heard a whole bunch of horror stories about bugs and decided to investigate to see if they were true. This. is. ridiculous. The Raven supporters on this forum have not denied any of these bugs, but yet attest that they are not really problems. My mouth almost dropped to the ground when I read this: Quote | Quote | On any map in CTF I can take the flag and walk through a wall into a structure where nobody can hit me and sit there forever. |
And why would you want to do this? Having played a ton of online cTF, I've yet to come across a team who regularly does this - it wouldn't be sportsmanlike. Why wait for a patch to fix this when everyone could simply agree to not cheat? :-? |
Sportsmanlike? I may not own the game, but I don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that this is a SERIOUS problem. On the other hand, I've been scrounging for any reassuring feedback from Raven and have heard nothing.
I'll probably still buy the game. I've heard the single-player is fantastic. But the issues here, *especially* the in-game server browser, are serious issues. And frankly, these people here complaining are trying to get their attention- and all you're doing is placing obstacles in their way. No matter what the good intentions a company may have, it often takes a lot of feedback to get their attention. And unfortunately, complaints are the primary source of useful feedback NOT compliments- because compliments encourage NO action.
Why did I post this? I don't know. I felt disgusted. Disgusted by the way these complaints are being treated as puerile whines. And I'm worried that all this sugarcoating may lead the corporation into a false sense of security. |

Quote | 1) private server hosts who are very rightly upset about the ingame browser issue; and 2) the TWL/Clan members from JO who feel that JA is buggy and isn't really designed well for competitive play. |
Ok, I don't have my own server, BUT, we all feel the impact of this. Sure there are lots of servers to be seen with ASE. Look at all the empty ones. The community is dying horribly because of this. Also, there have been such, but stop trying to discredit those of use who want bugs fixed by trying to lump us in with those people whining about noobs and fairy dances, ok? |

My apologies... you boys seem to be doing a fine job of that on your own. So I'll leave you to it.
