Microsoft are to remove all Windows Updates from their servers at the end of the year for Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition and Windows Millenium Edition.

This is aimed to get users of older operating systems to upgrade to Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Users of Windows 95/98/98SE/ME are advised to download all updates to a directory on their hard drive, before they are removed altogether.

If you can't download them then you are using Windows 9x off the internet. Or is there some port issues that I am not aware of.

awwww great. I depend on those downloads to get my IE, WMP, and various other doodles updated after a format. What am I gunna do now? I don't have any burning cababilities and if I do store them on my HD, what's going to help me after a format? Huh?

I hope I get a new computer soon.  :(

Reformat before they take them off, create a new partition dedicated just to those updates and whatever other files you might need, then just wipe the main partition when you need to reformat/reinstall.

That, or just get XP.  It's worth it.

Yea, thats why it aint that popular.  Cuz of its game support.  Sure XP is some bugs, but there all bugs that we can handle.  And there pretty rare unless your comp hasnt been defraged for over 2 years. :p
