I have to agree that over applying or abusing the concept of newb/noob can be as bad as those who lame, curse, etc.  One thing that frustrates me is when there is some form of crowd control, either in the form of an admin or a group of vets actually trying to teach/help the noobs.  And the admin or one of the vets for whatever reason ignores their own rules.  If that is not hypocritical and counterproductive, I do not know what is.  It IS a game, but even in a game, for everyone to enjoy, there has to be at least some politeness and honor.  Have fun, not a powertrip.

Hear Hear. :)

I hate it when I see mods abusing their power in-game. :(

ROFL I was told by someone who thought he was real good and an expert that YAW is legitimate and takes talent.  Maybe a little spinning is ok, but trying to imitate a Tazmanian devil does not take skill *OH LOOK I CAN MOVE MY MOUSE REAL QUICK ACROSS THE MOUSEPAD AND TURN UP SENSITIVITY*  Go figure that several other players and I easily cut through his spinning antics.  But the less experienced kept falling into his trap, and a lot of people disconnected probably out of frustration.  Come on people, where is the fun in scoring without actually trying?  Even if Raven put in the spin, making it technically "legitimate," then don't abuse it with extreme YAW.  I personally think that Raven meant it as a method of aiming targeted kata's like those of single sabers or to allow a player to turn and keep an enemy in the line of sight to plan the next move for kata's of dual sabers and staves.  Sorry that I sort of turned off topic, but I saw someone mention it above.  And it sort of ties into noobish behavior because in my opinion thinking that you are good when doing something as gutless as the YAW kata reflects a noobish sentimentality.

i only start calling the new players noobs when they start biscuit eater'n about my strafe jump'n.. god i hate it when new players dont face the fact that they have to get better by playing with better players and learning from them instead of bitching about how they own you.

to noobs:

bunny hop = anybody can do just jump repeatively.

strafe jump = bunnyhop but with strafe'n left and right alternatively and constently between jumps causes much faster acceleration..

also strafe jump is in ALL q3 games unless they write the code out.  So far its been in jk2 and jk3.

If your new and land on a server with some good players.. go to spec and watch em.. see where they make their moves to get weapons quickly etc.  its a faced paced game keep up!

<---- LOL I am now a Noob Master LOL

All the good players are using ASE to find servers and playing on servers that are currently not listed.  Use ASE.. even in nag mode it works well.

Do you guys mean to say you cant kick somebody from console on a dedicated server? Lol at raven, what the heck is going on in your heads. Keep pee-peeing off the server admins this way and you'll see how long this game survives. Lemme guess, the marketing stooges got too much to say regarding the game this time? The game certainly bares the mark of too many marketing fools messing around with what they dont know crap about. /me starts thinking about Stef over at userfriendly.
