I cannot get a server on the LAN (much less the Net) to allow downloads.

I have "enable downloads" set to yes and "Pure server" set to no.  No firewall, etc..

Any ideas?  Please help!

You must set Pure to Yes. Pure means each client that is connecting must have the same packages as the server, no more, no less. This also means that if downloading is enabled, clients may download the necessary packages from the server. In a non-pure server this wouldn't work, as the server allows anyone to have any configuration of packages without forcing anything...

No Go.

I have tried the pure / not pure d/l yes / d/l no on both machines, both acting as client and server.

Man...   this is odd.  Should be so simple.

Any OTHER ideas?

This is the Retail SOF2 Gold. I even went as far as buying 2 copies... still.. no.

At game console type this:  sv_allowdownload   then hit enter.  IF the reply is this "sv_allow download" is: "0" then they are turned off at the moment.  So simply type this: sv_allowdownload 1         and hit the enter key...

Just in case if your not at the server you must use rcon in front of that...

Here's what works for me:

   1. Setup working server and +set sv_allowdownloads  1
   2. Place package in base folder (/sof2/base/mynewmap.pk3)
   3. Copy the package to bas/mp folder and rename it (/sof2/base/mp/mynewmap_client.pk3)
   4. Fire up server & raise the maxrate so that downloads dont take forever

So by copying this file into the mp folder and then renaming it worked?

I am having the same issue.
I am running a pure server
allowdownloads are set to 1 (yes)
I have the file.pk3 in my base directory
and still no go.
