Sorry to post topics About GTKradiant, i feel as if i should be posting somewhere else, but Modding Ussally involves mapping issues..

Anyway enough irrelivant information.

I am having quite some difficulties saving the 4th channel for a texture/image so the Q3 engine can use it, because without the 4th channel the texture turns into a horrable black9 texture =(, it seems that adding the 4th channel and saving it as a .tga or .jpg format so the engine can see it feels like it cannot be done. I'v tryed quite a few tutorials on making textures but they say all the same thing, i use Photoshop 7.

SOF2 only supports jpg and png. You need to use a png like Lethal said.

Png will not work like all images types available to the engine unless i add the 4th channel,

i will find some freeWebspace soon so i can host images of my problems.

If anyone has any idea or possibilities adding the 4th layer, dont hesitate =]

I've used Paint Shop Pro 7 to create PNGs with an alpha layer, and they work perfectly, so it must be your settings (or Photoshop, though I doubt it can't generate the compatible PNGs)... but yeah, uploading an image would help...

I will try PSpro7.. but i have also tryed Gimp on nix and disagree's with channels aswell.

Anywho i'v located some free space for images to help narrow down the problem...

Mind the brutally harsh add at the top (i'll have to find a work around for it later), and also the res these images are.. i would have redused the size but text may have been unreadable. most of them have a small description on the issues per step, 4 images in total.

What are you trying to do exactly? There may be another way.

Don't add the alpha channel with png (4th channel.)

Just start with a new image, transparent background. Then add your image as a new layer and erase the see-through areas. You might have to write a shader to make it transparent though.
