You can have an animated desktop. At least I can with windows XP.

Yes you can have animated desktop of sorts. For a while my desktop was the enterprise intro. The whole intro Got annoying after a couple of days.

its an illusion,when you study something it stops moving,probably the colors and their formations

It might not be. The file is a .gif, so it could be a carefully planned trick.

I opened it in a .gif editor and there was only one frame. The picture was also moving in the editor so it is not animated.

It would appearing as .gif but I only see one frame when I open it with my gif editor (that's what I used to editing my "killthatcomputer.gif" avatar from orinigal one). Whatever, nice tricky image! [EDIT] WHOA! Look like I was slowpoke poster! lol
