XP
3.2ghz
fx5900 ultra
1gb ram
latest nvidia drivers
directx 9.0b

Ok, I just re-formatted and re-installed the os..so I had to reinstall sof2.

On levels like pra2 or col2..pretty much any outdoor level... I get a severe lighting problem.

If I look at the truck on kam5 from a distance..it appears white... and so do the players from a distance.

I've run wiser2.. everything is all good with that.  Indoor levels aren't a problem..only outdoor.

take a look at these screenies from pra2

Notice the white trees and the truck is getting whiter...actually looks worse in game... but this didn't happen b4

Nice system specs :p
Anyway, I have had this same thing with my last computer: And that was an AMD 1800+ 1,16 GHZ with 256 MB SD Ram and GF4MX440 graphics card.
I had it one or two days and then i lost it, it was back to normal. That whiting in the distance is a nice advantage btw.
Im just posting this to clear up that it is not because of the high system specs.

Me and a clanmate of mine have the same exact problem, although judging from your screenshots, the problem is much more drastic on my machine (all I see is really bright enemies and things like trucks and lampposts, the rest is a thick mist). The only common factors our computers share is that we both run Geforce FX series video cards and the 45.23 (latest) nVidia drivers. Rolling back to a previous version of the driver fixes the problem, but for some reason my framerates in all of my games are considerably lower since doing so.

I wonder if it's a problem with the driver on a GeforceFX and all Quake3 based games, or just SoF2. I've been waiting for a fix or something, but maybe they aren't aware of the problem.

Its probably more of nVidia's h4x at work again! Have you guys saw the Benchmark performance increases in the latest drivers? It's something like 1000 points in 3d mark...

notice there is a much smaller fog effect.  it is documented by  people in the CALeague as an issue with the latest nVidia drivers

After numerous issues/problems with nvidea in general, i decided to buy myself a Radeon graphics card while buying a new computer. Until now: Goddamn good choice  :)
