I was using usb when it started so then i decided to switch to ps/2 but its worse threw ps/2. Sometimes when my mouse kicks out my keyboard will have a really bad delay when trying to type. It has to be a power thing but how can I fix it?

I know the problem.
Your mouse lead is broken. Where the lead goes into your mouse it will have broken some of the wires from moving the mouse back and forth so many times.
The only way to fix it is to replace the lead of cut it and solder the individual wires onto the connectors.
I've had to do it twice with my mouse.
If you don't have access to a soldering iron etc or another lead then you'll have to buy a new mouse.

but why would my keyboard get messed up if the problem was just my mouse?

My keybord use to lock aswell. I think it's from windows trying to find the device. Or is locks from installing the mouse over an over again.
