I was wondering, if I rented a  server from elucid or something could i use sof2 runner to config my server? How would this be done?? Would this be an rcon thing or what?

You would upload the configs to the mod folder (including OSP), or base for standard SoF2 on Linux, and mp for standard SoF2 on Windows, and rename the primary config (either sof2.cfg or server.cfg) to elucid's specified name.  All it is might be a beefed up version of one of your computers at home that can handle multiple game servers without lag and with an uber leet connection, using the same files and stuff you do, so it shouldn't be too much different of a setup.

I would recommend the setup in a different file, a server config, then have the mapcycle execute from there...  But if you do keep it that way, take off the set variables from the beginning.

Its probably not the best way to do it... but it works and I am lazy :)  heheheheh
Have no idea really why I did it that way...  may have been because we setup matches in different mapcycles and we just started using the setup for OSP in the mapcycles... so they would be auto set..........

what would taking the set var from the front end do ??
Yeah I know nothing about anything, just enough to be dangerous :)

The set variable is generally only used for config files, it sets the variable.  After the mapcycle though, you just want to call the command, but not with set.

I have used 2 or 3 others and they have the best price around that I can find....    60 dollars a month for a 20 player public server is hard to beat....  they do offer one for more that is from their main office in NJ, I think, but the one I have is in TX and I have had great luck with them so far.....    their web page list the servers, and my sig has the US server which is from them... so you can logon to it to see how you ping....    I ping from Indiana at about 55 to 65......   not great, but not bad.......  our clan is based in the UK and they ping their servers at 20 and 30........   I have only seen a few I can find that good in the US......   of course I live in the mid-west, so ................ :)  I ping our UK server at about 130 and the UK'ers ping the US server at about the same ....
yada yada ..... still talking tooooooooo much :)

I also have a server from Elucid, and just helped a friend set up his server with Elucid.  One of the things I can warn you about it if you run a mod (ex OSP, ROC etc) make sure and just edit the original server.cfg file, and save it to another name.  When I was helping my friend, he made a new one and it caused his server to crash, In my opinion it is just easier to modify the original anyway.  I also have my webhosting with Elucid.  They are wright, Elucid does have very good prices, but all the severs are Linux server (no windows), but I think they are eaisier to run...... :D   My server is in the Texas Data center and my firends and I get a ping of 25-32, which I think is pretty good.  There are also alot of people that will help you with about anything in the elucid help forums.....

:s2:

I will shutup now.......
