Hey all,

I just got SOF II and have had the priveledge of being fragged by many of you online

I've looked around a bit on some of the fan sites but haven't found many tips/tricks to help out us newbs... anyone got any pointers for multiplay?  aiming tactics, moving tactics, weapon choices, etc.???

I'm sure posts like this come up all the time so if there is a resource somewhere just point me to it.

umm....fire in one or 2 shot bursts, always keep moving, try to stay behind objects unless you have killer aim, aim high go for the head.

use your strafe buttons.  practice a lot.

gl, its a tough game to master

take a usas-12 on a long range map then aim at the enemey and just blast away

use a smaller-than-standard crosshair, dot is my favorite

keep moving, use your head (tho blind charging is fun as well), try to work with others on your team

also...good sound a must to hear what's coming from around the corner.  do it well and a cheat accusation may follow

negative.  if you are using the m4 or ak, i would suggest aiming middle to upper body...if you constantly try for headshots, you will get a few, but u will also miss alot.

i think a great weapon to start out on is the ak-47, and always use the shotty as a secondary.  the m4 is weaker, and there is a learning curve with lobbing m203's (the arch) unless u use it as a panic button(killing yourself and your enemy at the same time).  you do not want to do this.  people will call you a noob.

get familiar also with learning how to juke (jump crouch) to get on top of boxes, trucks, and other placements.  o, and take the time to learn how to lean...invaluable, especially in INF...

strafing is hugely important while shooting in 2-3 round bursts (on auto)...

have fun with the game, stop by our server anytime T|A ip: 64.5.44.54:20100  just dont get too discouraged in the beginning, the game has been out for a while now, alot of catching up to do.  GL!


yes...the dot is important.  the default size is fine i think for some 1 new, but if you mess with it in console (~) type cg_crosshaisize ...this will tell you that the default value is "24" and you can lower in from there.  if you go with the dot, you NEED this command: (~) cg_crosshairgrow 0   trust me.

also, you want good framerates:  in console (~) type cg_drawfps 1

hrm, i use a dot, size 18, and i've never used the cg_crosshairgrowthingamabob.  what am i missing?

oh, here's a tip.  don't poke your head out from behind boxes unless you want me to put a hole thru it.

Just personal opinions:

... crosshair to dot size 14/ change color to yellow (get info and stuff at SOF FILES)

... game is very framerate intensive: turn visuals down until you can get consistent frames over 70 while in action.

... game is very ping intensive: join servers under 50 ping and if you feel you are hitting people but they aren't dying, change servers.

... Real Damage servers are neat for a new person:  you can kill with less hits.

... start each gaming session with at least one round of Death Match in order to get a tune up... then play ctf.

... use the ak and lay back a bit in the attack: it is very important to learn how to aim because the game can get boring fast if all you do is die.

............good luck..... this is not an easy game.... these are just my opinions.

I've messed around on one server that was suggested to me from an Elite clan member... Sack.  That was Warfare Chicago.  I'm thinking you greased me there
