Guvner is bored at work again!

In which 'official' maps do you think it is the easiest to capture flags. I know this will have a lot to do with who you are playing, how many you are playing, so putting those aside, what are the maps and what are your favourite tactics?

I must admit, I'm one of those annoying flash grenade merchants, but it's real fun to dazzle the enemy before nipping of with the flag. (if you don't dazzle yourself in the process :)  )

Shop2

Best is if Blue has managed to win control of the main route through the middle, if blue has control of this, RED always seems to take a battering. Lots of flash and smokes.

Red, I always trying and sneak down the sides paths if I can.

Kamatcha (the one that takes ages)

Well it seems to be to pin enemy in the spawn. Takes ages sometimes (and very annoying if a server doesn't have the 20min etc cut off point in place) but is really satisfying if you can get a steal.

Over to you lot  :)

Shop 2 is unbalanced as h3ll, if you're losing as blue then shame on you because then your entire team blows. The best tactic to take the flag on blue in shop 2 is by taking it from the side, go back the same way but then take a little detour to let the enemy think you're going to other way, but then you just go through the middle/vent shaft. :) Of course this doesn't work when you're being chased by enemies. Also a good way to escape is by going back the straight way out, but then jump on those desks at the right of you, then it's harder for the respawners on red to shoot at you.

In Jor1 when on red I like to enter the blue's base from the right side. I just sit up there on that little roof and wait for the respawners to walk by (hardly anyone ever looks up) and then when they're gone I have about 10 seconds left to take their flag. :)

Jordan: Over the bridge M60 blazing, up to the balcony, frag the ground below while jumping off balcony to left side then break out the 60 for a final charge.  Then run to the pack, pick it up if it's there and leap off the bridge at full tilt to crates below, then cut back round side and pick up easy flag.

Other team, M60 down the left side, onto the stall roof just right of arch to central area, across to stall roof next to the small building, sneak round the back of the little building on the wall, smoke the flag area then charge and run.

Kam3: Red-To the area over blue spawn, jump down from point to point to floor down to sniper camping spot round back. Wait for blue to spawn and pass, smoke spawn and flag, charge through in the confusion shooting blue in the back who are camping.
Blue: Out of spawn past the ladder, up stairs to right, round to right into centrasl area, leap across outcroppings to other side, frag red spawn stairs breakleft, cut round to other side of flag room, frag and charge, then out over balcony rail and cut through pack room and left round back of level which is less crowded.

Kam5: Blue-Head to roof of warehouse left side from spawn over division wall into red base, jump onto container roofs, smoke the flag and charge.
Red, down left side, over roofs, jump into blue base throwing smoke and M203 nading enemies onto small wall.  Up onto train car roofs and over into flag area grab and run.

Prague2:Blue- down left side, up over red spawn on metal gangway, onto outcropping of flag building round to roof balcony, remove snipers and defenders with nades, down past pack out and to flag.  Hit sewers as soon as possible when escaping.
Red-Through hotel out window grab flag, nade, hit sewers

Will do other levels when I can be bothered  :s9:

Kamchatka... or Jersey Winter Wonderland...
I prefer to teleport to the backdoor, SMOG and n00bienade the lot of the campers inside, before Scotty beam me back up...  Its a hard map :)

Its pressure that counts.  Put on all the pressure you can.  Try to get 2 kills or more before you die.  Eventually, you get lucky.  Keep on touching those flags.  Sacrifices are necessary.  Campers lose.

Enough rambling. :D

Oh yes!. How many times have I seen people stay back from touching the flag.  'oooh I might die.....'   'good, blumming well touch the flag and don't let it reset please.' Sometimes I really do believe that the players think the enemy flag is covered in dog poo and must not be touched at all costs. :)

I like the production line effect. I guess the nearest description would be the old bucket of water chain in a fire.

I guess another good tactic is to tell your team where you dropped the flag.

One time I saw someone camping right next to the enemy flag, no enemies around. He probably didn't realize he was sitting next to it and apparantly he was so focussed that he didn't read any of the messages yelling at him to grab that flag.

agree that shop2 very biased toward blue...very easy to cap unless entire team sucks...easy to defend as well

move up right side...flame door that leads to red spawn...thru hall with flame pin pulled...straight to flag and back out...

if you have cleared area of snipers/campers before going in, can cap singlehanded, sometimes without anyone firing a shot at u.

if on red team, take left route (also wiping out blue folk trying to use the above tactic)...pause at window by flag until spawners enter bldg...cap and shoot attacking blue in back

most of time definitely will be hit bad, so more help needed.  about 2 of 3 times somebody will discover u before a clear attack can be performed.  but it is sweet when u get away singlehandedly!

I can't say that my shooting skills are extremely good but MAN can i get a flag! =)  Definitely the routes you take are key and when you figure all that out you are golden.   Players should definitely spend time scoping out maps and the enemies sweet spots during games.

^

I tend to find the less action you get in to on the way the more chance you have of getting the flag. I've had loads of time where I could have 'popped' the enemy, but then thought better of it, they haven't seen me, great, wait a bit, flag clear... lovely.
