How do, I'm very bored at work, so I thought I would see what you lot thought about the M60 and whether it stops you going about your business if you come under fire by one from a distance? I like to hold back enemy advances by peppering their main routes with it. You invariable never get many kills as you are not hitting anybody, cause they ain't no one there you can see. You're just firing away hoping that it's making them think or at least try a different route. (e.g. Jordon as red, you can stand right of the inital spawn point and shoot away down the length of the map at the blue area (snipers quite like this place) and hopefully force them to take another route. However, if most of you aren't bothered by coming under fire by an M60 (i.e because it's quite hard to aim with) then this tactic is probably a waste of time. What do you reckon? Guv |

Yes and no. I agree, great supressing fire. I also think that you can get a lot of hits with it... on my own I can at least get average ratio kills/deaths. If I have backup with me, then I can exceed average on it. Just be a little more gentle with the trigger and accuracy comes. Small bursts with plenty of counter-recoil-mouse-movement.... I love the M60.... !! |

it does its job, but depending on what map it is. in small close quarter indoor maps like shop2 the m60 will tear you apart. on long range outdoor maps its more for scaring the bejesus out of people, and it does a good job. my only tip for using the m60 accurately is "cg_drawgun 0". the m60 is to big and the flash is to bright, its alot easier moving around and targeting people without that behemoth in your way. btw the m60 is the second strongest gun in the game, behind the sniper rifle. |

Frankly I like to use the M60 to run and gun, in mad rush's like grabbing the case on Raven. Drop in the kitchen and hit the main hall guns blazing, if there is no nade inbound, more than likely you'll mow down all local enemys, grab the case and be out the door before you even have to reload. This works three or four times before they just nade the main hall for shitz and grinz. For me its a great weapon in a Many-to-One close quarters fire fight. Even if you don't kill a lot of guys you'll have tore enough of them a new bung hole that the rest of your team shouldn't have any issues winning. Tho my objective is to weaken the enemy force, not to see how long I can stay alive, so if your looking for ratio's then this method isn't for you...but if your looking to make sure your team wins, then this is some thing to try out. |
