hi there,

ok here is my prob. i wanted to make a demo and convert it to avi so it can be watched anywhere. after i found a great tutorial how to do that, i tried it out. i followed the steps of the tutorial and everything worked fine. i made the demo in 800*600 @ 20 fps and i used the divx 5.0.5 codec to convert it. but when i watched it in the winamp3 or windows media player it was so dark that u couldnt see alot. i mean u can watch it but yeah, u dont see everything, especially if an opponent is far away or something like that. i tried to adjust the gamma ingame before making the screenshots but that didnt worked, i thought the demo would be recorded with the settings u choose in the game but they were still a little dark. and after converting them with divx they are getting darker and after that in a player they are very dark. with the virtual dub u can chosse a brightness filter so i tried that. i increased the brightness about 6% and after that it was perfect, but with the filter the filesize increased from 44 mb to over 700 mb !!! so maybe someone knows if it is adjustable with a setting in the divx codec or if there is another codec which is better for sof2 demos.

another question: when i record a demo while im playing, the demo is of course in 1st person view, but i read something about changing the view to 3rd person or even rotating. is that possible and if , how ? are there special commands to do that or what ? i thought the demos are only in the way u record them, eg 1st person, 3rd person or spectator view.

ok thx alot in advance

for brightness, the divx setting have a brightness controll for all movies, but generaly it is a bit dark, u could brighten the images before u merge them in to  movie, most photo apps will do batch conversions.

as for 3rd person there is a script pack on this site that has lots of movie effects like 3rd person and rotations etc
