First time on this board.
single player game!!!! I get about 7-10 minutes in and it freezes, sometimes i get an error message that says `runtime error, abnormal program termination`, sometimes it just freezes and thats it, if i ever get back to desktop all my colours are mucked up, necessiating a restart anyway. I can play the random mission generator to the end. I have put all video, modelling and sound settings to the lowest setting. I have downloaded wiser2, which tells my installed files are fine. I have re-installed them all anywaY!!! No change!! All my graphics card drivers are up to date. I have the gold edition.
I have amd athlon 1.8ghz processor, 256mgz ddr ram, a nvidia gforce4 mx420 64mb graphics card, a 40mb hard drive with at least 10mb free, directx 9.
Can anyone help, as id love to play this game past the middle of l;evel one. Im getting so frustrated!!!!
Please help

How about your fans, it's possible your computer is overheating.  Although 256 ram is adequate, and possibly not your immediate problem, you should consider adding 256 more.

Another long-shot is to try EARLIER drivers, not the latest detonator but rather the latest WHQL certified like Version: 40.72 .

My only other suggestion is that your graphic settings are too high.  To determine this, take all the settings down to low.  If you can play without crashing, then that is the problem. you can then bring them up to medium.
