as people were saying p2p allows for more... effects etc, does this mean the MP will be less "fancy" than SP?

Yup now we just need the OSP and CPMA teams to be involved in the actual development phase. Fork over some of those Q4 bucks to the guys that love the game and have done such a great job for years.

well im glad they came to their senses, i wasnt that concerned with doom3 MP as I am with Q4.

Doom 3 MP is very smooth, I hosted a game and players were getting <100 ms lag time. The four player limit was fine because the maps were designed for it so the action was still fast and intense, plus it makes it a bit more personal.

I doubt the MP portion of Q4 will differ much from D3 considering they are both SP focused games.

All in all I'm enjoying this game a lot more than Q3 when it came out.

Frightening in what way FPS games are heading nowdays, who comes up with these to say the least really bizarre ideas.

good to see atleast someone have their head screwed on the right way, now if they only could continue in that fashion...

So now that we know Doom 3 is using the client/server model does that mean all the assets for Quake 4 had to be redone or was that just BS?

This poll should be closed, now that it´s clear that the Doom3 engine uses a client-server setup. There is no need to discuss the pros and cons of p2p anymore because Quake4 will use client-server.
