Looks to be a name changer, non-standard characters.  Not allowed on most PB enabled servers.

Yeah its called <someone's> Funky Name Changer.

How is it that it can be used in SOME PB servers? I saw someone using it last night -> I immediately double checked PB was running - it was... I thought strange, but obviously not...

pb has the setting pb_sv_extChar 0 //[0=No, 1=Yes (default=0)]
unless its set to 1 by the admin it will kick for extended ascii characters, but the default is 0 to not alow there use

Just want to cover my base's here but if this setting is set to "1".... is there any cheating that could happen as a result?  I was just looking to dress up the motd on the loading screen.

There is none that I'm aware of, and the only reason I see not to allow the extended characters is because some Admins are to dim to learn how to kick\ban via client ID rather than strictly by name.

Personally I think removing the characters removes some of the coolness of the game, yeah its a small nitt picky thing, but its one that I like.

Not to mention that I was given the boot for 3 weeks solid when PB was released all because of my name, and it never gave me a tip off to what the problem was...thus to this day I'm not very fond of PB.

yep its just so admins can type the names,

but u would not need to enable this to use extended characters in the motd, also im not sure if the motd character set suports extended characters or not.. trial and error i guess

i believe i was in a server the other day with the "capslock" thing in thier motd.

Trial and Error is the only way to learn this stuff ( IMHO ).  I do plan to make the change to my server config so people that dress up there name can play, I am glad I asked because I would have never known that this setting existed.  The only thing I don't know is where to get this mod/add on at.  Would soffiles have this? If so anyone remember the name.  Thanks for everyones help.
