According to Astyanax over at the JK2files forum, who says his info comes from the people at LucasArts, they're aiming at a Semptember release.  However, aiming at a date and actually making it are two different things.  Also it came from LucasArts and not Raven, so make of it what you will.

i just pre-ordered my copy of the game at an online dealer.
it also provided 2 'due on release' dates:

september 19 - PC
november 28 - XB

i don't know how much reliable these dates are, so beware (i hope they are, because that would mean i'll be playing the game in less than 2 months lol)...

I'm very surprised that I am the only one that actually visit these sites!

I hope the 16th is the date but as JKfiles don't give any sort of clue as to where this date has come from (the we've been told means nothing without the source) I'll only except the date as Fact when I see a release from either Lucas or Activision giving the date (or someone from Raven tells me it whichever comes first).
