Most of you will have read about the legal goings on between Activision and Viacom.  I was just thinking about how I hadn't seen Harry about for a little while when I thought struck me.

Raven is owned by Activision.  Activision has claimed breach of contract and is sueing Viacom.  Paramount is owned by Viacom.

Now Harry's whole official reason for visiting these and other Trek game related boards will have been the deal between Activision and Viacom.  Now the two are fighting a legal battle and the contract has been breached, will we still be seeing Harry here?  It seems unlikely that he will be around in a professional capacity to me.

Then again, I could just be being dumb.  It's been known in the past.

I had the same thought.  Seems to me that given his role at Paramount, Harry is right in the middle of it.  Well, maybe slightly downstream - he isn't in charge of programming but he is in charge of moving the "property" into the world of gaming.  Until he can manage to wade his way through the swamp of lawyers he is up to his arse in now, we probably won't see too much of the ol' boy.

Hang in there Harry!

First of all, I hope his job isn't in jeopardy.

Secondly, I hope he can still hang around here w/ us.

No.

Some time ago (Around 8-9 month) Harry got a promotion.

He overview every game Paramount create. Star Trek or not.

But you need to take 2 thing into an account :

1) He got a new house, and he is moving. (I don't have the exact date, but it's probably by now he move)

2) His wife is pregant. She is on her 7-8 month.

2 raisons that make Harry (Beside the job) less and less time to visit here.

HomeLAN - For our readers who don't know what you do at Paramount, what are your job responsibilities?

Harry Lang - I’m Director of Interactive Product Development at Viacom Consumer Products, the licensing group for Paramount Pictures. My team and I approve all aspects of development for games based on various properties such as Star Trek, Mission: Impossible, Top Gun, Sabrina The Teenage Witch and many more. This includes working closely with the publishers and developers from the very beginning throughout development including marketing. In addition, I also work on branded accessories and electronics such as our Top Gun Thrustmaster joysticks. All in all, there are probably about 20 different games currently in development at VCP.

This was back in 01 and now he's an Executive Director, doesn't that mean he has to spend more time in meetings or is that  practising his putting in his office I can't remember which one it is that Exec's do :old11:

Yes, but if the company you work for is in a legal battle with a company that is sueing you, do you still continue to offer support on that companies forums?  Probably not.

Depend. Does Harry directly work for Paramount or Viacom?

I think he works at the Paramount Studio.

Because you are sued doesn't mean every worker stop working untill the sue is over. He probably continue to work untill a decision is made.

Remember that he come here as benevola. I think he will continue to come even if they lose every contract with Activision.

I think the fact that he is moving to a new house is probably more the raison, since I didn't see him online for a while. (Beside the board)

Weird...I had this thought earlier today too.  Was thinking we hadn't heard from Harry since the news of this broke.

Hope all's well with him.
