Speed is right that patriotism can be very dangerous. It's placing one group of people above another group, all within thesame race. If we would focus more on the entire world and less on our own country things would be a lot better. And I am indeed proud to be human and think we can be proud of ourselves. As a race we've come so far and although I think there will be a lot of problems to overcome for us in the future we can always be proud of our race.

Scotland, Wales and Ireland have flags everywhere out of their capitals.. yet we don't really...

I flew the USA and UK flags outside before and during the height of the war, and i got told to take them down coz of it being "old hat"... i mean how can one being proud of ones allies and country's freedom and people get "old"?!

It can't.

I see your point Speedy - patriotism can cause harm, but only in the hands of extremists, and we are not all extremists and we shouldnt limit our pride of our country just because there are those out there that take it to the extreme!

Again, thanks for the input guys - i can't spend much time on the PC as of late and i apprechiate that you still respond to my posts!
