I totally agree with this, to me SoFII is the best multiplayer game out there. The gameplay's just superb, nothing in SoF3 should be changed on that front.
Also, the idea of more stealth and teambased missions/gametypes in multiplayer is fine, as long as the old CTF/DM/TDM/DEM/INF gametypes remain in the game, seeing as they are the gametypes we've grown to love in SoFII.
It would be good to see a wide range of different types of gameplay in SoF3 MP, but please be sure it stays attractive to the old SoFII players.
I also agree with the better mod support, better player physics, further development of the RMG concept, enhanced Ghoul engine and more interactivity.
I'm sure Raven won't dissappoint us.  :)

i would say just forget single player, its a waste of time, concentrate your resources fully on multiplayer.

-include a whole load of 3d models that allow mappers to create nice, realistic surroundings easier.

-dont focus too much on eye candy like "person rolls down the stairs" and similar stuff. this keeps no one playing on longterm.

-make sure antilag and impact prediction are available again

-rework the rmg part to be more flexible in terms of terrain shape (and allow more then 32 different instances per map)

-add more terrain types for rmg

-maybe make a rmg concept for indoor and/or town setting, using a concept of eg "here can go a house (or garden, etc), this house can be divided into x rooms, into this place in this room can go a furniture, on this furniture can be a 3d model here, here and here etc." (this will surely somewhen become a main feature of fps games, once its done in a convincing manner). it should include seeds and a "mini map editor" for use with all those prefabs that gives out a seed (so u can create a map and all that people need to play it is getting the seed from the server).

-more weapons, but not as overloaded as ravenshield (and not such an amateur feeling like ravenshield, it feels like running around with broken legs, heh)

-more gametypes, especialy capture and hold of buildings (superb also for rmg).

-AND, very important, allow to provide download links for maps/pk3s or whatever, so people dont have to search the net for the files after trying to connect to a server with a mod/maps or any other required files that they dont have(VERY important!!!)

thats all i can think of atm  :cool:

edit: the fog in rmg maps should start further away. if distance culling is at 5000 it should be sufficient if the fog starts at 3000.

One of the things we could never wait for before the first SoF came out was the sound meter... it was supposed to revolutionize stealth gaming by making you keep your sound low so the enemies didnt attack... it was sad that the only thing it controled was how many baddies spawned behind your back...

as for concentrating on SoF multiplayer... It has been said again and again... SoF3 will be massively-multiplayer.

I say support SOF3 better than you did with SOF2, Don't just run for the hills when you've made ya money.

Or at least fix the major bugs before you dump it. ???

hhmm if Raven (Gods) do make sof3 (plz plz plz pzl) i hope they dont use the doom3 engine it would be a nightmare when you have got 8 players all on the screen at once fighting (5fps) lol hhmm i think use the ut2004 engine or maybe the COD engine wich is the q3 engine with dx9 capabilities or even wait for the q4 engine probably the later, as sof1 was q2 and sof2 was q3....

What no MP game has is userfriendly modding.

What I would like to see is the possibility for everyone to make a map. Simply with selecting and dropping. Like a basic map editor, which is so easy everyone can make it.

Creating this would mean everyone is able to make a map and that sure will improve the quality of the scene.  I have seen so many custom maps with bugs or simply not good. All together a good map editor who is userfriendly would be extreme fun! :blues:

The Q4 Engine is nothing else than the Doom 3 engine....
BTW, how can u tell about the performance about the Doom 3 engine, to my knowledge it isn't out yet....

lol he proberly compares speed with the leaked alpha version.
Performance will be much better as in that very very early version thats for sure ;)
