this game costs £24.99 to buy and then to actually be able to play it u have to buy a subscription @ $12 for 1 month / $30 for 3 months / $120 for 12 months.  there is a free months worth of subscription but to claim it u have to buy a subscription which is even sillier.

do u think this is a MAJOR rip off / money making scam or whether it is genuinely worth it.

judging from the ammount of players that are already online they must have already made enough money to pay every1 like more than enough.

i say rip off.  i am not down with paying ANYTHING after i've bought the game.  well, maybe an expansion pack or something.  i heard the gameplay is all just busywork anyways...

I bought this game the other day and paid like $30 for 3 month subscription + 1 month free (dunno how much this works out in £'s)

I admit that this is a very crafty way of getting decent amounts of money out of gamers, but people will pay it

Up to now i think this game is AWESOME and would definalty recommend it to anyone!
The graphics are fantastic and the gameplay even better,
There are absolutley loads of players on 1 server @ a time god knows how many (but its alot!),
This game is very good!
all i can say is read some reviews off people who have played it and then look @ some screenshots or demos.

i asked my buddy how much he's put into UO so far, and he said $700.
he also said worth every penny, but i think he's a sucker.


when you think that tribes2 is only $10 with free internet play, that is so infinitely cheaper than all the money you'll pour into planetside, and they're similar games.


it's your money though, do whatever you want with it.

i was in the beta for the game, and while the game had its good points, i felt it wasnt worth the cash.  it would be a cool game if youve got a good group of guys to play with all the time, but you really couldnt go solo in the game and get anywhere.  the graphics and explosions are cool in the game though.....

I don't think it is a rip-off but i don't personally like the game all that much so i decided i wouldn't buy it.

Yes it is definatly a team based game and it is much better if there are a group of u playing together as a team,
Because the game is pretty new, people are still just running around like its a deathmatch game but it will take shape soon enough.
I think this is just a top class game! ill take some screenies for u to take a ganders @
