Its now been more than a year since I downloaded the classic SoF2 multiplayer demo online and played the crap out of it. It had fast action and sweet, wicked graphics. One of the coolest parts to me was how when I was in ghost mode after death, I had the ability to go free roaming with the camera and see the action as I wanted to, from any angle. Ah, good times. Then, the real game came out and I bought it instantly. I was hooked as it offered even better excitement than the demo. It also still had the free roam camera. Then over time as I played through the months, I noticed that the free roam camera option was becoming less and less frequent as server administrators (or whatever they're called; I forgot) made it so that you were only allowed to follow the live players in third person. Then the Gold edition of the game was available and soon almost all server administrators made it so that in ghost mode you had to follow the live players in first person, not any other. Why is this? Why doesnt anyone want the free roam camera to be about anymore? It was actually a fun game in itself, how you could fly around the levels and watch the vicious carnage from the skies or whereever you wanted. So whats the deal here? Why isnt the free roaming camera during ghost mode as frequently available as it was back in the old days? Oh, and sorry about my long, single paragraph. I was just lazy when I wrote this. Meh. <- Good for relieving stress. |

Yeah I c ur point lem, but still, comms shouldn't matter in a public match. After all, you can go SPECTATOR and still view any enemy - and use the comms if you want. Thats just as bad, if not worse. In a clan match, you are not even allowed to go speccy, where the comms "cheating" would count. So, IMO ghost mode should be allowed as it is not AS bad as spec mode - you still have to SEARCH for the enemy if you want to "cheat". The only thing I can think of that may make a difference where GHOST mode is concerned is lag on the server. I really don't know if it would make a difference to the pings or not... Keep GHOST mode on in the public servers!! |

| Quote (turgon @ June 04 2003, 10:20 am) | i like to be able to ghost. i found a few servers that let you do it. i use it for my movie making.
its very cool to hover overhead a huge battle and then swoop down in the middle of it flying through explosions as blood and tracers are flying everywhere. |
thats because we play ctf, where ghosting isn't as big a deal. in any other game type (cept DM, TDM) ghosting is lame, because you know all the lameos are helping thier friends/clanmates. as good as a wallhack. |

| Quote (Chicane @ June 05 2003, 3:48 am) | | I have been CTF admin and I found out that ghosting is a big advantage when other players cannot. Especially with not so many players on the server (5 vs 5 or less). |
Do you find this a problem on a public server? If people really want to "chat-cheat" on an on open server like that does it matter that much?? It must mean they need the help LOL |
