Ok, i would like to know why my FPS counter while in EF never goes above 90FPS?  Its so weird, whatever i look at i never see it go obove 100fps!  Dont get me wrong my machine (when i get it working again) is quite powerfull and should be running over 100fps.  Is something wrong with my counter or is there a command i need to punch in?  Here is my machines specks:

Win XP
Athlon XP 2100+
GF4 ti 4800 SE
512megs of DDR333 Ram
and so on.....

You can check if there is an FPS limit set by using this command:

/com_maxfps

Set it to 0 to disable any limit.

What map(s) were you testing your FPS on?
Did you put your settings all the way up?

GF4 ti 4800 SE

and so on.....

THAT's the reason . . .

Ok 7 that must be it.  And no Apprentice that's not the problem lol.  My comp plays Jk2 at 100+fps on average.  I have noticed that even in a map that ONLY consists of 4 brishes (1 box)  it never goes above 100fps lol.  Heck even a slow machine could do that.   :p   I my machine kicks brush A! :s1:

No need to do that IMHO...
I play ef a lot, also in clan leagues, and all kinda more 'serious' players have adapted their autoexec.cfg file so that it's easier on their system and makes the map brighter, enemies easier to see etc.
For 'certain' reasons most players cap their fps at 76 or 125 (seta com_maxfps "125") and most if not all players can get that on their system. And some of them are not even that new.

Don't set the FPS above your Refresh Rate because you will get vertical tearing.

The FPS is set to 90 by default, so you'll never go over that even if you have a P4 3 gHz processor with a GeForce FX 5900 Ultra.

Try typing

/com_maxfps 300

at the console and see what happens.

PS:  That number '300' is where the fps will top out.  You can set it higher if you're regularly hitting the 300 limit.  Be forewarned that some fps settings may handicap (or enhance) your character by letting you run slower (or faster) and not jump as high (or be able to jump higher).  My roommate ran Elite Force at 43 fps and he could jump higher than everybody else.  I ran Elite Force at 333 fps and couldn't jump as high as when I ran it at 90.

But that's how I set the FPS on my system, and that's why the displayed FPS on my screenshots are so high (P4-1.8gHz, GeForce 4 Ti4600, 1gb RAM, Windows 2000, nitrous oxide).

I don't know what the exact value is anymore, but I think it was 80. If you put your com_maxfps at 80 you could jump out of the trenches in ctf_voy1 and ctf_voy2 with a little practice. It allowed you to jump this tiny bit higher.
