Do you remember the first time you played hexen or heretic? i remember the first time playing hexen... with my friend's old computer - 133mhz, it was in 1999, i liked this game a lot but my friend hate it so i didn't play it much, until i bought the PS version which TOTALLY rocks, much better than the pc version...

How is the PS version better than the PC? I'm assuming it was just superior graphics-wise. The first time I played Hexen (which was actually before I played Heretic, strangely) the first thing that struck me was the mood. The first level with the wind blowing the leaves and the eery music had one of the best foreboding atmospheres ever. Unfortunately it was only the demo version and it didn't even let me pass the first hub.

The PS version has much better sound quality and it has a lot of FMV's, i mostly liked the PS version because of the FMV's.

The first time I played Heretic was at a friend's house about three years ago. I found the game pretty lame though, so Heretic never won my heart. HeXen blew me away on the other hand. I tried the demo one and a half year ago and thought it was the best Doom clone ever made, so I bought it and now consider myself a happy HeXen fan....well ok, I'm not totally happy, because I was displeased with HeXen 2 and the possibility of a HeXen 3 is very small.
