Hey Guys, Im realy working hard with Mr T now to get the USS Magnificant done, were hoping to finish it next week sometime.

James the chairs are looking good. (I hope you're not still mad at me for saying your WIP engineering shots were crap, I didn't know they were WIP at the time.)

Apprentice, wow! Looking forward to that more and more every week.

As promised, I finally have something to show. It's not much to look at, but it's better than nothing and it's not a corridor so that should make EasyG happy. :p



Ok so maybe it's worse than a corridor, but hey this will be the backbone to my last Holomatch map for EF. I'm also working on an updated version of my 10to5 map for EF, but the changes are hard to show with screenshots so I won't bother trying.

MMFSdjw (we need to give you a nickname..... like spot), Don't know what that is, But I like it. if thats a space map you might think low grav.
Scooter, that looks as good as the original raven jeffiries tubes  :p

best ways of keeping fps high are the following,

1. Put area portals inside your doors, simple brush with the area portal texture all over it the size of the door (area portal texture is in the "common" texture set.

2. put caulk on any surface you wont see, like under chairs or tables low to the ground where you wont see under them

3. not sure if it helps but caulk as much of the outside brush surfaces as posible.

The main issue with fps is that more of the map is being drawn at one time, Lots of doors and area portals seems to help this.

My latest map the USS Magnificant has corridors that go all over and around the ship, without doors and area portals it would probabaly have 10 - 20 fps but with and all the caulk and hint brushes runs at a smooth 75fps for me.

i liek that shot alot scoot. i especially liek the pipes ont he sides of the walls very nice indeed.

apprentice- i liek them pics they is good it often reminds me of some film where ppl are going into the centre of the earth. i no that is warp core but i like to think of it as a big drill instead drilling through the earth.

well at least thats what i liek to think.

yeah fps are a biscuit eater scoot! u can have a fairly high brush count u just need to make sure its split into sections with area portals so that there not all being drawn at once.

also models are a bitcth on fps as well cause there made up of lots of polys depending ont eh detail of course.
