Ok scripts issue - I know this has been touched before. Sorry to bring it up again.

Currently I have no internet connection @ home - just moved into a new house, and waiting to get connected (arghhh I can't bear it!). Anyway, not played for a good couple of weeks.

Went on SOF2 @ my mates house (used to be my flat mate so I know his set up really well), and I got owned.  :(  I specced a few people because I know I am not that bad.

Anyway, I found that - in my eyes - they were using scripts. Throw a nade, and straight back to gun. Some even using the STRAFE script. And lots more too.

I don't just mean one person either - I mean almost all 20 players. There were one or two who were not using scripts - you could tell the difference by speccing them.

ANYWAY.... those who were not using scripts were really getting owned. Scripting in general is an advantage.

So, to keep up, do I script too? I know I shouldn't, but the game is really going downhill for me, but then again - I have been outta practice for a couple of weeks (thank god for this forum keeping me sane)...

Your thoughts please!

dont use them and dont intend to.  for me the mousewheel is quick enough to go from primary to nade and back.  i prefer to improve on my own and build up skill than to cut corners which is what most scripts do.

Same for me,  Jump + Crouch script and a toggle primary to secondary.

BTW if you select nades, throw the nade and hit weapon toggle then that puts u back to primary really quickly.  Didn't know there was a script to this.  I wuldn't use it, what if i wanted to throw 2 nades in quick succesion.

Don't use em, don't like em.

I don't see how there's anything a script could do for me that I couldn't just bind normally.

i dont have a problem with any script that makes sof2 easier to use, like crosshair and demo scripts. everytime i wanna change my color and size i dont want to type all that crap into the console.

however any script that controls player movement or alters gameplay should not be used. the jump crouch is one of those scripts that shouldnt be used, why you ask? moving the player is your job, not the job of a script not matter how miniscule the task!!

with the jump script you probablay dont miss as many jumps as you did before and sometimes missing a jump will get you killed, which is why the jump script is lame, it takes human error out of the equation when jumping. same with the crouch lean script and the dodge script if it exists.

i dont understand why its so hard to push 2 buttons, one after the other.

I think people use the lean script (for example) because you are crouching, leaning, shooting, moving etc.... the keyboard will usually only let you press a certain amount of buttons @ one time - doesn't justify it however...

Lets face it. Crouch jumping is crap in the first place. Why was it ever put in to games? Pointless (IMO)

I use the script that Nologic created, and I'm thankful for it.

Yet alone 3

Each to their own I suppose. I mean if Raven didn't want people to use movement scripts, they should have locked it all down in the first place.
