I just bought a copy of Hexen II for old memories from EB and installed it on my 1003mhz PIII with 512ram and 64mb radeon7500 running xp pro. It runs unbelievably laggy fps wise when i have it in 1024x768. thats just no right because my computer should dominate a game like this but it doesnt seem to do well what am i doing wrong or how can i fix it??! please help, thanks much

Rename the file "opengl32.dll" in the Hexen2 folder to something like "opengl32.bak" and everything should work properly.  Right now your computer is trying to run Hexen2 using the old driver that came with the game, and since 3D cards no longer support it, Hexen2 is trying to emulate 3D acceleration using only software.  Not even a computer twice your specs could run that at a decent speed. :)

On the offchance this doesn't fix it, the problem must be Win XP related.  I don't run XP myself so I wouldn't know what to do exactly.  I'd recommend checking out the NewHexen sourceport, which should have no problems running under XP: http://newhexen.raven-games.com/
As a matter of fact I'd recommend getting it even if you do get Hexen2 to run, since it adds many great features such as colored lighting.
