I play sof... everything very smooth... have an ftp open... have IRC open... data tranfsers up to 300kb/s everything still very smooth ping around 50 on my fav server...
And then... when i get a bit tired of playing... i log off the gameserver... and i c my IRC connection disconnect... this also happening sometimes whith mapchange at end of score- timelimit, but not that often... But everytime i close my MP game it gets disconnected off IRC. Now i wonder.. is SOF hogging soo much bandwith then while logging off gameserver? When i log on a gameserver i never have any problems.
Does anyone experience the same problem?
Or does anyone know why this happens?
Also i do sit on this 10mb/s connection... so maxing out my bandwith would be hard to reach... so i doubt if that is the problem.

Maybe somewhere in your IRC settings? Or do u use a program to connect to a server directly, which also has IRC settings, like HLSW. Check those settings as well.
It hardly can be you bandwith, i have less, and i dont have the problem. and i have the same GF4 card as well!

The same #### happens to me. My IRC client disconnects when SoF2 is connecting to a server. While playing, there is no problem at all. BTW, I use no strange software, only mIRC and SoF2 are running. Very strange.

Do you have Gamespy or All Seeing Eye or anything like that to connect to servers?  If you do, then maybe one of those programs disconnects you from IRC when you join or leave SOF2.

Nope... Nothing else than mIRC and SoF2 running on my compie. And it just happens when SoF2 gets the servers list or when it connects to a game server for the first time. I'm 100% sure of it.
