Well what a idiotic poll.... which is more powerful??!?? Obviously the FX5800, it's beaten the 9800 on all of the benchmarks. It's not even an opinion, it's a fact... Now if the poll was 'Which card do you prefer' It'd be different... Remembering something RevTed said a while ago: Was this trippoll really necessary? God it's like saying 'Which do you think is bigger, America or England...? Now in my OPINION, America is bigger, BUT IT'S ONLY AN OPINION!'  |

that's so untrue, i gotta call bullsh!t. the ONLY benchmarks it beats the 9800 in is when AA and AF are turned off, and if you turn down all the detail levels in your control panel. Nvidias AA bareley even works (2xAA looks like crap, 4xAA is none better).
if you are going to spend $400 on a videocard, you obviously are doing it because you like eye candy. you like all the tricks turned on. if you go with the FX, you will be VERY dissapointed, not to mention the fact that it has a vaccume cleaner as a fan. |

Anyway, Ramirez. Show me a head-to-head comparison between the 9800Pro and the 5800Ultra. Then i'll believe it. Every benchmark i've seen had the 5800ultra pulling ahead of the 9800pro, by a reasonable margin as well. The AF and AA only makes it more of a difference |

uhh, you are dissagreeing with yourself! ATI's driver problems are WELL behind them, and their drivers now put nvidia to shame. periode.
i got my 8500 when it first came out, and yes, the drivers back then kinda sucked. it didn't perform well compared to a gf3ti200. BUT, a month later, my 8500 was FASTER than a ti500. now, that card gives stock 4200's a run for its money.
go ATI, if for no other reason, because they are canadian, and you americans should show us some pity.  |

First of all, Tyranith, thanks for calling my poll stupid.  Second of all, it seems that there are different opinions other than facts. One says the FX is better, the other says the Radeon is better !! That is what I meant by an opinion because nobody really has any solid proof that one card is better than the other !!! And my opinion was about what I heard and what I beleive is the truth. So Tyranith you dont need to jump on me just for giving my comments, after all - you are still arguing on which card is best with Ramirez !! You see there are no SOLID FACTS YET !!! So keep on posting about the poll topic, and forget about that OPINION crap !! NOW, can anyone get some FULL PROOF FACTS that one card is better than the other ?? Has anyone tried to run these 2 cards head to head yet ?? I need some answers coz im about to but one of these 2 cards, and I think im going for the FX since I personally rely more on Nvidia than on ATi with regards to crad stability and driver compatibility ! And also, I just got my brand new Nvidia nForce mobo, the A7N8X Deluxe. Keep on posting ! |
