I've been considering creating my own Kill Tracker device for JK2 (And after that, perhaps EF), after seeing how other people are starting to make them.

I have enough basic programming knowledge to do it, I only have however, one problem.

Somehow, u have to get the program to be able to 'interface' with the JK2 exe and then get it to monitor JK2's console and what is printed into it for it to analyze and then respond.

However, I have no idea how to do that.

Does anyone here know how?

The only language I can comprehend is VB, so I'm going to do it in that. :)

Well, luckily, I just found a copy of Mau'Dae's tracker source online.  It was done in VB (luckily!) so I'm busy pouring over it's internal workings now :)

For a simple tracker, it certainly is pretty complex.

This could take some time....

There are already several kill trackers out there for JK2.  And I hate them all.  I find it very obnoxious.  Hate 'em.

It tracks it then spams it out for all to read usually in the form of "[your name here] are the [# of times] puny weak pathetic peon I've killed!" every time you get a kill. Its kinda lame, a big number doesn't impress anyone because all it means is you waste more time on the game than others ;)

ROFL... heehee.

Ok, u d00ds think that.  :)

I use my tracker to keep tabs on how many times I die (Which isn't very obvious if u hit tab) so I can get a good idea of what my death - kill ratio is. :)

I know how annoying the kill messages can get, so I've made mine as short as possible. :D

:D :D

Plz note, Kill Trackers are about as much spam as people who use binds, if u want to knock kill trackers, go out and knock all of those crazy bind people first coz there are a lot more of them.  :;):

And anyway, most trackers have a feature that allow them to be turned off if need be. :)
