this a error that i get when cod builder is finished with sample-based diffuse lightning.
so he don't start with world and modeling lightning, and then i have no shadows in my map and everything is too bright.
what does this error mean and how can i fix it.
i got so far and had all of those stupid errors with lighning and duplicate brushes and patches but now this i hope anyone of you can answer my question so that i can go on with my map.

and XAo what is your kind of memory
mine 256 SDram and windows gives a low virtual memory warning maybe it has something to do with that?

i have a gigabyte of ram. Plenty of ram. The problem i finding is when i use the -extra on flare which basically puts shadows on the models.

I think i have figured out what option is causing the problem it's the model alpha shadows if you turn them off it should work. To do that type -nomodelalphashadows and that fixed it for me. my other options are -verbose and -extra

As to why this is occuring i have no idea i disabled most alpha shadows on the model themselves to see if it help but as of right now it hasn't.

I have not seen this error. This is just an observation. I have all the entities that you are saying is causing this problem. I use CodBuilder right out of the box, no settings have been changed. What are you doing different than I am? I use worldspawn settings for ambient,
_color, diffusefraction, northyaw, suncolor, sundiffusecolor and sunlight. You guys must be doing something different in your projects to cause this.

my worldspawn is correct i will reïnstall codbuilder with the original settings, if that don't work i will try to disable the alpha shadows of models but my map did it before so i don't see a problem there but i will try.
and it worked all thetimes before so i think that i do nothing different in my project
but what are your codbuilder settings redrummdk?



P.S. i have a new error, after finding flare bsp
he gives a error it was something like this:
allocation failed on 28 bytes
that's why i didn't send you my error, but you can see it at my first topic above its exactly the same as i get in codbuilder


but i don't give up because every error has a reason why it's there, and you only have to find that reason
but it is f*cking irritating when i had all those errors of duplicate brushes and patches and when i fixed that my map did compiled good for a moment and now i get another error
i hope that it will end after this one because this slows down a lot

I have made no adjustments to the Bsp Options, Vis Options or the Flare Options in CodBuilder. Evidently you guys are checking some of the options in there.
When I compile the map there are shadows etc so do we even need to select those options?

How big is this map? Are there any Portal textures in it? how many models are there? Too much of anyone of these things might be wahts causing the problem. ZHope this helps in solving your prob.
